I would like to get hold of the cup holder blanking plates for my 2004 e85 if anyone has some or swap my passenger side cup holder working fine and my knackered driver side one for the both plates.

I too would be interested in 2 blanking plates - left and right.
Alternatively can I get the blanking plates from ebay or BMW?

In fact, I think a better and cheaper way is. Remove the entire cup holder and glue it. Then say goodbye to the noise.

I was thinking into the same direction, put a lot of silicone on it, and glue everything, so it is quiet.

what i did is stick something soft on the arm of the cup holder. When it is retracted, it will be squeezed, and there will be no noise. Although it goes out not so smooth, it still functionable.
