Angel eyes

Post by andyf98 » Thu Jan 07, 2021 5:29 am

Hello all.
I am looking to upgrade my standard e85 headlamps to angel eyes and my question is, are they much brighter ? Do they only have the halo rings on dipped beam or is there a brighter centre light ? As this is my daily drive i want the lights to be brighter so is this worth doing ?
Many thanks in advance for any advice.

Will keep an eye on this thread, the standard ones are woeful. There are likely to previous ones on just this subject so might be worth using the search function also

Best discussing this in the E85 forum although there's a hell of a lot of resource on the subject already

The standard Angel eyes are an old design. Essentially a rounded lense painted over with just the outer rim being clear. Paired with a blue filter lense behind you can see why there don't light up much. There was a thread where someone took the light apart.

I did upgrade to led bulbs but made it worse, so I went for 20w normal bulbs instead of the 10w ones.

Best way would be to take the units apart and install new style Angel eye rings, but that's a some work.
3.0si roadster. Requisite stubby. Sound gen mod. LED numberplate lights. LED boot strip. Interior lights LED too. ZHP gearknob. Daily drive :driving:
Motor in boot. Bilstein B8 dampers. New radio, much better sounds
