This is true ^
Gear shifting is night and day with the SM unit. I think it’s about £75 these days. They do the matching handbrake units too and also in a rather lovely titanium finish.

Sunny day here is south London, so decided to take a few pictures of a very dirty looking Monaco Blue coupe :)

New cubby door arrived today. Shoutout to kis for helping me figure out how to remove the old door lugs that were left in the cubby hinges...
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=126355

New door cost me £75 posted from Sopers (took about two weeks from Germany), and standard door replaces the old and broken phone prep unit (phone prep and OEM BT electronics still doing well in my makeshoft LEGO container in lower cubby slot). Forgotten how good the door springs open when it works too, so a nice little interior repair.

Christmas present, installed. Engraved 6-speed Storm Motorwerks V1. Think it works well with the light interior. Does get a bit cold though

Appreciate it, Z4hid. Next up; discs and pads.
Likewise on the spec of yours too. One day I’ll have Amerone in something!

Last drive of the year and a new years eve hack out into the frosty south London and Surrey countryside, today.

God I love this car. Needs new brakes (and tyres soon), plus my washer jet replaced next week (to save me stopping and tipping water over the windscreen every hour), but I’m really enjoying life with the coupe and this engine.

Pictured with my friends ‘new’ 323i coupe (one owner and just 43k miles) for a socially distanced hello at Ryka’s Cafe.

Replaced both rear boot struts today with SGS units, What a difference proper gas levels make.

Z4 Coupe Monaco Blue: Build Thread

Post by inkey$ » Fri Jan 08, 2021 3:00 pm

Brodit clip arrived today. Install took a few minutes longer than planned as I hadn't pushed the 2 x gap wedges in far enough and the end snapped off of one :headbang:

Still managed to get them both in far enough though and inserted the clip itself. Quite a tight fit of course and required a little shifting towards the middle slightly in order to ‘latch’ into the trim gaps on the underside of the dash.

Just need the holder now and then wire in hidden USB power source - which I think is going to be placed next to the glove box, along with a very short USB power cable.
