Feels the same at the moment, but I’ve not pushed it round a B road yet. Hopefully get the opportunity to do that soon.

Z4 Coupe Monaco Blue: Progress Thread (phone holder)
Decided the Brodit wasn't for me, so removed and reverted back to the right hand side of the wheel. Wanted to keep using my cupholder and make the most of my newly recharged air-con, so didn't want to cover the vent. Instead I’ve used an Olixar short window mount that I’ve converted to MagSafe.
Couldn't find a MagSafe holder that you could power/keep plugged in, so I went to AliExpress and bought one from China instead. Swapped over the rear ball connector with the Olixar magnet and hey presto; hardwired magnetic charging for my iPhone 12 mini!
Routed the USB C cable through the very top part of the side vent, behind the steering wheel and down to below the centre heater controls. Can use with cigarette lighter USB as is but will be hardwiring via piggy-back fuse soon when I add a dual USB port somewhere - possibly in or near the glovebox.

Oh man I need that phone holder solution badly! Once you have finished it, how many beers would it take to get you to make me one as well?

Its quite easy to sort. You just need the bits (obvs) and remove the right hand vent. The rest is positioning and a little hole cutting for the USB port wherever you need it before piggy-backing into the fuse box for ignition power.

Do they just slip over the standard tips? I think my car used to have a set of those but they get removed at some point before I bought it.

So leave the old tips on and just insert over the top and do up the grub screws to tighten? Or do you mean remove the old tips and insert over the standard exhaust exit pipes?

Your new ones might not be the same but the originals just slide off (with some encouragement lol)inkey$ wrote: ↑Thu Jul 08, 2021 10:54 amAh, is that how they work? So leave the old tips on and just insert over the top and do up the grub screws to tighten?
