I believe that is the group buy price

Gazzzz, what a great, professionally approached project. Well done! Do you have any of the scoops left? If you do, is it possible to ship to Australia? And just to confirm: this piece fits the Z4M as well?

Is the potential for water to get into the airbox substantially higher with this than for the standard opening? They both use the same snorkel, so is it just the increased frontal area that is the issue?

I'm also keen to hear if anyone has done any data logging?

Wish you a pleasant day.

I would be very interested in purchasing this, but am awaiting data logs and/or dyno results (and ideally videos with sound) before committing. I'm also interested in what this rain solution is.

I'll bump the question. Is there any high speed run data yet? (have I missed it?) Does it do anything, or is it nicely engineered jewellery?

I'd love to see it work but could never get past the notion that significant gains were possible without re-mapping and removing or disabling the intake pressure differential sensors discussed. If it works as well as it was claimed it would be a winner. I'd get the data up :poke:

I interpreted some earlier posts in this thread to be saying that some users on this forum had bought the scoop, but I’m sure they would have posted by now.

So, it seems we’re really waiting for Gazzzz.

I can’t see it being any worse than factory or aftermarket air scoops (like the Eventuri I have) but maybe the existing snorkel that leads from the bumper to the engine bay is already at its maximum flow potential?

Data logging is what we need. And, of course, an increased MAF signal doesn’t guarantee that the car is making any more power.

Still, very keen to hear more.

Mine's been fitted all year. A couple of photos on my build thread viewtopic.php?f=2&t=112593&start=360

I can't say that it has increased my top speed on track, but it hasn't hurt it any. Tyre condition has the biggest impact on my top speed, so too many variables on a race car.

Sell it Liam and put the money towards some new tyres

Hello,

Here is the rain protection:

I'm just printing a last functional prototype before telling you more and taking pictures of the part installed
I'm not very talkative at the moment, I have a lot of work to do, I promise if tonight's 3D impression validates the part I would be much more available.

Hello,
After seeing all the work made by Gazzzz I decided to order a scope to test it on my car.

My SI was already remaped by the previous owner in Germany. I decided to ad an RPI scopewhnen I bought it in 2027 but I didn't notice any difference vs OEM and know I undestand why after reading this post

Here is a pic of the 3 scope : OEM, RPI and Gazzzz... the quality of the part is just perfect and fit like an OEM part !

So know it's time to drive and to know if it works or not...
For me the answer is that it is a great part that works very very well, over 50km/h you can feel that the engine works much better

It is the best mod I have done on my car !!!

I'd love to think that BMW's R&D engineers missed a trick and that a plastic she-wee funnel can squeeze worthwhile power gains (with no down-side) from our engines without re-mapping as claimed, but until there is some data from high speed runs from an un-mapped car it seems hard to believe. The OP has explained the methodical, science-based methods used in the design phase, so it seems strange not to have verified the installation with some data as well?

Also it's probably my misunderstanding, but isn't the presence of the afterthought rain shield going to mess-up the carefully calculated ram-effect characteristics of the intake? :scratchhead:
