DLV exhaust mod in Sussex?

Post by dhobbs » Tue Mar 31, 2020 2:24 pm

Does anyone know of anywhere that carries out the DLV exhaust mod that's in Sussex, preferably east Sussex?

Would love the scorpion setup but that's a lot of money.

Back box delete would be too much for me.

That looks identical to removing the back box entirely, the internal baffles have been removed & replaced with straight through pipes? How is that silenced at all? :?

Rob, didn't he put back a portion of the soundproofing, depending on how loud you wanted it?
I think Marlon had one?

Surely wadding would only have a silencing effect if the internal shiny pipes were perforated?
Being non-perforated the sound waves can’t escape to be muffled by any wadding?
Tell me what I’m missing here, I’ve had aftermarket exhaust on my motorbikes for decades & wadding is only used on perforated tube systems :?

Dunno exactly Rob, but from the amount of them he did, there must be some benefit otherwise they would have just welded straight pipes on. The wadding must damp out some of the sound surely?

I don't believe DLV does these anymore. I also heard machine monkey did them but stopped for various reasons.

Not entirely sure Rob, i have a dlv box though and its definitely quieter than a straight through, I'm sure on his original thread he explained how he modded it for different levels of sound as he would make them louder or quieter if you asked

Just found the old thread, some perforations remain you just cant see them in the other pics, the part highlighted yellow stays in so there is an element of baffling intact
