2006 z4 3.0i performance upgrades/mods

Post by Heiliger » Thu Mar 26, 2020 7:22 pm

I'd really like to know any ideas of how to make more power out of the car, are there any parts that are easily modifiable or changed.
I want to start looking into these things but I need some help to get me started :) :)
Please share any ideas that you have

Without big money there's not a lot to do to these engines, a remap might get a few hp an a better power curve

Yep, a remap is about all you can do but even these just tend to move the power curve around a bit rather than give more peak power. The other trick they usually do is change the throttle mapping much like sports mode so that you perceive it to be quicker.

You can supercharge them for a good hike in power but that costs thousands, nothing else is going to make much difference :?

Is supercharging better than turbocharging it?

To be honest it would probably be cheaper just to replace it with an Alpina or an M.

I suppose nitrous injection will give you the best return in terms of £ / bhp. A lot of people get put off by having a tank in the boot though.

A new air filter and plugs felt like it probably added 10hp to my car . :driving:
