I am going the long way round πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘
Via an entire circuit of the M25? Would be interesting to see how quick you could do it without any traffic

Mjennings and Skelters. Thanks for the advice re polishing. My car has protective film covering the front, sills and part of the bonnet. The guy at β€˜Clean Your Car’ told me you can polish this too with good results. I have got a few house/garden jobs to finish off before I start on the car but I’ll let you know how I get.on. Cheers

A lap of the M25 was a big thing back in the 80s - before the gantries with speed cameras were erected.

It's about 112 miles IIRC, and I'm pretty sure it was done in less than an hour! :o

Oh really? I never knew that was a thing. I've done it a few times now (although I did do the full circuit, it wasn't in one consecutive journey).
Not sure you could do it in less than two generally speaking! But if there was no traffic and no cameras? I guess if you maintained or exceeded 112mph it could be possible? :?

You'd need to do a bit more than that, because you had to stop at the toll barriers back then.

I remember a motor trader mate of mine telling me about it in the late 80s - typical cars of choice were Sierra Cosworths (probably modified) or 911s, and it was usually done at 2 or 3 in the morning!

As you say, you'd be lucky to do it in 2 hours now especially with the "Smart" stretches with reduced limits seemingly around the clock regardless of traffic. :(

Removed the CDV yesterday, took it for a quick blast (to get the shopping) this morning and can't believe the difference. I wrapped the aluminium dash in a brushed satin black a few months ago, fairly pleased with the results, but left the centre tunnel due to the work involved. I actually think it looks quite good as it is because it matches the instrument cowels and silver on the door sill plates but I'm considering wrapping it today. Any thoughts appreciated

Gave mine a well overdue wash yesterday. It has been sat for weeks, unused, covered in bird poo πŸ˜‚

Looking lovely and shiny today in the sun. It won't be moving from that spot for a good while

Looks lovely Jonathan  . Still got the winters on I notice. Perhaps that'll be the next job for you? Having said that the forecast looks like it's getting much colder again next week.
I've just cancelled my MOT booked in for next week as it's now been extended to October. Seriously considering SORNing mine & putting the Ctek back on. Just not getting any use out of her during this lockdown  .

Hello Dave, yes still got winters on, don't really know when to change them over, every time I consider it, it seems to get cold again and of course even if they are winters they are higher profile than the summer wheels and with the current deplorable state of our roads it makes sense to have the highest profile possible :(
