New Battery

Post by Singapore stag » Tue Nov 12, 2019 2:37 pm

Hi, I am about to purchase a new battery, anyone know the true dimensions of the battery I would need, cannot access the car to check at the moment.
Also the majority of batteries I looked at, the negative terminal is on the left hand side looking from the rear of the car, but the positive terminal should be on the left hand side. Do you all fix the battery the other way round so as the positive terminal is on the left.? I am yet to find a correct terminal battery.

New Battery

I recently purchased a new battery from Euro car parts and they had a discount code of 37 % so was a bargain, I can not remember the sizes but I measured the old BMW one and entered all the details printed on the battery and it showed two or three options, I didn’t choose a battery recommended from my Registration as the output was lower and wanted the same as the BMW battery which was 15 years old before it died

Worth checking for discounts before you buy

Cheers Steve

My positive connection is on left and negative on right as you stand behind the boot of car looking towards the front of car if that helps

Varta E44 silver as already mentioned is the one to go for, it's the exact same size, comes out of the same factory as Bosch and is cheaper.

Even with the sensational 50% off from Euro Car Parts, the E44 is still more expensive than my Ebay link.

I put in the z4 specs for compatibility and it says does not fit E85 Z4??? And also the positive is on the right, does that matter? Does it have the tube fitment for the breather or overflow or what you ma call it?

or the E11

Trust me. It has terminals in the correct place and connection for the vent pipe. I wouldn’t have recommended it otherwise.
