Car Cover - Any Recommendations?

Post by Ruofdez » Sat Nov 02, 2019 8:25 pm

I keep the Zed outside and it's used as a daily but I don't like seeing it exposed to the elements! Is there any benefit to a car cover and if so is a full one or a half cover just for the roof best?

Where I have to drive it when it's raining I'm not sure just how much point there would be in a cover but after keeping it immaculate through the summer I feel I ought to at least look into it and get a few opinions!

Seeing as you use it as your daily its not such a good idea putting a cover on a damp and dirty car. Best thing you can do it just to keep your car well sealed with a good coating whether it be wax/sealant/nano coating and just keep on top with regular washes.

My advice would be the same. Putting a cover on a damp/dirty car will ruin your paintwork. No matter how hard you try to prevent it the cover will move about rubbing in the grit and dirt..

Hmm did think that might be the case but thanks for confirming. No benefit in just the roof cover to protect the soft top? I'm thinking more when it starts getting cold to help with frost.

Frost isnt an issue with the soft top, just dont operate it whilst its frozen and it will last a life time.

Thanks, guess I'm worrying about nothing then, will just try and keep it clean when we get dry weekends!

Only thing I would suggest is Renovo fabric cleaner and Renovo proofer once/twice yearly.

I’ve been using the Autoglym stuff. Much difference in your opinion?
