Lowering springs

Post by Timmo478 » Fri Jul 19, 2019 8:36 pm

Hiya peeps, looking at lowering the car 30mm next month when I do a few other jobs.
Obviously searching the forum the only 2 words I see are Eibach and H&R.
Anyone fitted the Direnzas? I'm running staggered setup 255 18s rears and 225 18s fronts.
Cheers....

Lowering springs

Never seen them mentioned before on here. They are the same brand as the "ebay exhaust" that's had a long running thread on here. All I would say is try to check how much they are uprated by and if they are a progressive spring. For what it's worth the ebay exhaust is a well made piece of kit but like most aftermarket backboxes for the zed it's was also too small and consequentially too loud for my tastes. But like I said I couldn't fault its build quality

All I'd say is you can get a set of Eibachs for around £130 from ebay and they're tried and tested. Why not stick with a known product? Are these ones really that much cheaper?

Having had a quick look on ebay the Direnza seem to be circa £110-115. So I have to agree with mjennings23 above, is it really worth risking it for another £15-20. One thing I did notice is that Direnza also do a kit for the 2.0 which IIRC neither H&R and Eibach do. So possibly a good option for those owners

Get eibach for £120 from onlinecarparts.co.uk in Germany, always get all my bits from there now as much cheaper. I've bought eibach for my e46 and X3 from there, no probs.

Never heard of Direnza, and the savings are minimal.. as others are saying, go with Eibach or H&R.

Also - you are going to replace the dampers with proper ones designed for lowering springs, yes? If you don't, you'll quickly beat the existing ones to death - especially if they're already older and worn.
