Joys and woes of my Maldives Blue 3.0i

Post by Jezza21 » Sun Jul 14, 2019 10:50 pm

I’ve been a quiet spectator of this forum for a long time now and this damn forum is one of the reasons I am in 2 minds about where to go next with Zed.

Either sell it after a recent rear-end incident has been repaired or go into all-out restoration / revitalisation mode and start fixing up the rest of the niggles!

It also seems more economical to keep the car and fix it up to a standard I'm more happy with than sell it and buy something "better"

My immediate plans include:
- Half car respray (1/4 was respirated last year after a Range Rover reversed into my side)
- New alloys, CSL style most likely
- shock absorber replacement
- Suspension arms / bushes etc...
- re-wrapping the dodgy gloss black trim in better quality 3M gloss black wrap (sprayed some parts black, now they're flaking!)
- sound-proofing and new seals around driver side door
- Swapping out red 3rd brake light for clear version

Any suggestions on what else I could do?

I’m not planning on building a racing car here, 3.0 engine performs just fine :) I want to raise the “quality” of the car. Comfort, looks and drive quality

I’ve already made lots of little improvements from the the heavily discounted “junk” i purchased. It was not in great condition at all, since the recent ding in the rear I feel it’s my duty to return it back to it's former higher standard!
