Anybody know the part number?

Post by scarlet-jester » Sat Jul 06, 2019 6:15 am

Made my first attempt at some DIY maintenance today and overall it was an epic fail. This is the clip that secures the front bumper to the car, and this one is buggered. This is passenger side, RHD.

Anybody know the part number as I am going to need a new one?

TIA

Are you taking about this part

I believe they are cheaper at the main dealer. They break very easily so don’t be hard on yourself

Awesome - thanks Yorkie. That was the least of my concerns. I removed the xenon lights to give the lenses a clean to great effect!

Unfortunately the plug fitting on the dip wires broke in half leaving one half still in the plug. I got it out in the end but mullered the fitting on the light ....

as well as breaking a fitting on the back where the ballast attaches. I think I created more work than I resolved ...

These are the cheapest I could find - and cheaper than the stealer even after discount.

Wow, that's about half what I paid. Wish I'd found these before buying from the local stealer

Maybe it is because of all the beer you are drinking when you are working on the car :poke: :D

I was hoping it was just cloudy beer, rather than the OP preparing for a visit to the GP

Hahahaha! I was wondering who would pick up on that :). It is a local NZ IPA called Good George - delicious! I can assure you, I would not go anywhere near the Zed after having any of that! Reward after a hard days work you could say :)

Got one from the local stealer. Although not as keen as the US prices, it will be here tomorrow - $75 NZD. The UK eBay ones look good, but if I wait for free post it will be September before it arrives and with the postage added, there is not much in it.

Thanks for the prompt replies guys!

Same as what I paid a couple of years ago, so at least the price hasn't changed from really expensive to really, really expensive  . I bought both sides because they both got damaged removing the bumper. I did remove the bumper later after fitting the new clips without any problems, so perhaps the old ones just get a bit brittle with age.
