Project Salvage Auction Rebuild
A bit of an update
The bumper is off and I need to replace the right side suspension crash bar and the right front wheel arch. Getting some help from synthedup which is massively appreciated!
The wheel arch is nightmare to source and look at this for a new one https://rover.ebay.co.uk/rover/0/0/99?l ... F515454148

I’m also still trying to source a sterling grey bumper. The Facebook one above has gone
Can anyone confirm if the post facelift one fits straight on?

Shame you missed out mate. The facelift one does go straight on but imho doesn’t suit the car as well.Quijibo Jones wrote: ↑Tue Jun 18, 2019 10:30 pm I’m also still trying to source a sterling grey bumper. The Facebook one above has gone

£230 for a front bumper on eBay. Thoughts?

I’d get everything else repaired first and just keep your eyes open. A bumper will come along at a much better price. Sterling is a fairly common colour and you should be able to pick one up much cheaper.Quijibo Jones wrote: ↑Tue Jun 18, 2019 11:18 pm £230 for a front bumper on eBay. Thoughts?

You are like the angel on my shoulder. Unfortunately the devil on the other side is very impatient!srhutch wrote: ↑Wed Jun 19, 2019 7:00 amI’d get everything else repaired first and just keep your eyes open. Interesting read so far! Good luck! From what I've seen you don't need a full front end/slam panel section. It's the undertray that's taken the hit?
To fix it up I'd agree on:
Undertray
Front wishbones/control arms complete with lollipops
Front bumper
Plastic slam panel cover
Radiator (maybe fan, but can't tell if thats loose or actually cracked)
O/S driver wheel liner (maybe N/S as well if that's in poor shape)
Steering rack needs checking, has some scraping could just be the rubber gaiter and rods that need replacing? (rather than a whole rack)
Obviously new tyre
Then just checking everything over, service and alignment. The shocks are probably worn (age related) but can be sorted later as I can't see any actual damage to them. Check rear springs (they crack) and also your DISA as both tend to fail.
Many of the items above won't stop you from getting going, like front bumper, undertray and slam panel cover etc. So I'd focus on the rest and be patient for the other "more cosmetic type" bits... as you can always pick up a bargain that way. Unless you're in a time constraint to finish? Anyway good luck with it all

That's one big thing I've noticed with this forum.Quijibo Jones wrote: ↑Wed Jun 19, 2019 1:26 pmNoooo. The devil won and I’ve agreed 230 that includes delivery. You would have wanted 200 right?
So many helpful people on it that all you need is a little patience (ie. something a little longer than 12 hours ), and a result almost always materialises.

I have an update with images
- The plastic slam cover is basically destroyed and i have sourced a replacement
- I've sourced a replacement under-tray
- I need a new Radiator which i'm hoping i will be able to replace without removing the air con cooler (any thoughts on this)
- I need a new anti roll bar link on the right https://www.carparts4less.co.uk/cp4l/c/ ... b6f&000016
- Possibly a new head light - mine are grubby and the bracket on the left is snapped on one side
- And a new bumper that i have impatiently bought
