I've broken cars up to sell parts and it's just a ballache and consumes your time like you wouldnt believe.

If you can be bothered with the hassle then break it. Otherwise flog it to my nephew - he's been pining for one ever since he took mine for a razz. lol
I have too but not z4s everything on them is desirable so they break bloody awesomely. There is a guy who used to break all bmws in blackburn near me but only breaks z4s now as there's so much money in it. Op has a garage to break it in now so it's a no brainer to me.

Get that socket set out!

What's your asking price?

Someone suggested £3,300. I think he would be getting a great car for that.
I'd be aoffering around 2500-300 for a 2.0 litre car personally but it does have some tasty bits n pieces.
I'll punt it on to him, see what he says.
If you don't hear owt back from me then take it as he's not up for it...

Seems a shame to break a perfectly good car. Ask yourself, is a few more quid worth the end of a fine car and the hastle.

That’s why I’d be happy to raise £3,300 with the hardtop.

I think if I broke it with just the items listed above I’d be looking at about £3,000

Personally think you'd struggle a bit. There's been a handful of 2.5 with half the miles going for around. £3300-£3500 on here recently.

E.g.
viewtopic.php?f=41&t=113875

f i wasn't breaking I'd sell the car for £2500 without the hardtop and get another £700+ back selling that

The miles are up, but not mega. This car has plenty going for it, so should sell and summer is coming :)

Seems a shame to break her :)
This!

Put two prices on. One with the Hardtop and one without.

Also see if you can take pictures by rotating the phone!

Even though it's only a 2.0 sell it rather than break it as someone might get the same pleasure out of the car that you've had and every car that is broken up is another car closer to electric cars!

Also check out the prices for the 2.0 facelift here... viewforum.php?f=41

Also check if there's any hardtops for sale on the eBay or here on the forum. You may be surprised at the prices!

Most effective way is to sell the BBK, wheels, seats, dash, coilovers etc seperately, and put the original parts back if you still have them (plus a cheap set of stock seats)
That means work, but those parts add up in value quite quickly. You'll probably get about just as much for them as for the car itself.
Tuningparts are worthless on a car but very popular when sold seperately.

I'm surprised that there's still no dibs on the seats and bbk's

Haha or the ZHP, wind deflector, M3 strut brace, cruise control :)

I think you’re right that the main desirable parts will soon add up.

Yeah all the goodies when still fitted on the car probably add less than 1k, maybe only £500, as they're probably seen by the new buyer as repairs or some added bling.
Only an enthousiast sees the value of those parts, but all the enthousiasts already have a z4 (and are thus not interested in the car itself) and are on this forum.

I think it would be a shame to break it, but as GuidoK says you'd do much better selling the goodies on here and putting the original parts back on if you've got them then sell the car as standard.

Good luck anyway!

Anyone doubting the 'breakability' of a z4 just needs to see this thread

Standard 2.0 9 pages of requests, easy money.

Far more money to be made breaking it.

If you are going to brake up I will have the boot lid. If it will fit a face lift.
