Replacing the 10 speaker Business radio with an Alpine unit. They got everything installed but could not get the amp to come on, they searched the web and their normal cite they use gave no answers. They finally called their BMW tech support line and were told on my particular 2006 Z4 3.0si the amp in the back is turned on by a digital signal from the computer. NOT from the signal coming from the radio. They say the only option is bypass that amp completely using the amp in the Alpine 172BT for 4 speakers and install another amp to handle the other speakers. They are still scratching their heads for some way to get the radio to turn on the amp. I taking back Saturday to get done whatever it takes to get it installed. They only about 10% have this particular set up.
And ideas, anyone run into this before?
