My 2003 Z4 3L Journey (every mod including pics)

Post by Hutch » Mon Feb 25, 2019 12:06 am

Good evening everyone!

I hope you all had a great weekend out in your Z’s! The weather has been fantastic and I certainly had some serious fun in the sunshine :D

I’ve started this topic to record all the mods and work that I do to my Z4. My plan is to list out every mod and include a full set of intructions including pictures of how I completed them aswell as listing all the parts I use and where I got them from.

This post is going to record my Journey with my beautiful Z4!! I hope to gain knowledge from others and hopefully some people can learn from me :D

Can't beat a whippy, don't forget to insure your zed for a greater value

Great looking zed!
First yhing I'd advise would be to make sure it's mechanically tip top before spending on any mods.
Have you made sure there's no underlying mech issues to sort/prevent?

Ignore buzy. Whippys are for conservative old men  stubbys are the way to go. :fuelfire:

If I had ur z the first thing I would do is go for an all black grill for a more modern look.
I conducted a poll here not so long ago where all black was considered the best choice. Cheap and cheerful mod

Mod 1 - Stubby Areial

The first mod I done was the most controversial one on the whole forum...

I got rid of the whipy and got a stubby aerial - as yet I have no idea which I prefer but I’m going for the Stubby for now! If I’m honest I think they both look good and the difference to the overall look of the car is minimal

Product name
Genuine OE Peugeot Citroen Roof Short Aerial Mast 6561N3 C4 II C8 308 II 607

Price
£9:96 - (its worth noting that cheaper ones are available on eBay and Amazon if you shop around)

Well you've started off with a controversial one!

Ignore Chris_D - whippy is the right answer. That's how BMW made them!

You have a fantastic life journey ahead, only downside will be you’ll be poorer for it, much poorer...

Well, if you do go back to a whippy, you'll need one of these as well... :poke:

So much drama around the whippy/stubby debate!

Dare I say it, Personally I’m leaning towards the stubby - I think gives a more modern look to the car, but I guess that depends on what look your going for... But the real difference is it makes the car approximately 0.00001% more aerodynamic

I still can't decide whether the whippy/stubby debate is a big forum in-joke that started before i joined....

Because without question, stubby is obviously better.

:P

Welcome OP! Looking forward to watching your journey with your Z
