Hi frankie
Think they originally used a golf tee to blank the tube off once disconnecting? People use different things now like capping sleeves etc , I’ve done it on mine now for about a month, nothing happened to engine or any lights , have heard if you disconnect the power rather than the pipe underneath it CAN throw a ghost on the computer?? Hopefully others will confirm or deny for you. It sounds better, but personally still putting a different exhaust on , worth a try before spending cash on a different exhaust though for sure 👍

E89 only. The E85 doesn't have any of these valves in the exhaust for noise reduction, so it's effectively the same as the "modded" exhausts anyway

Yep , just as the guys say this is only for the e89
As frankie said about a 3.5i purchase
i have an e89 3.5i , think there are other threads about the golf tee mod somewhere on here .
Some say it doesn’t make that much difference, some like it , it’s such an easy thing to do it’s just worth a try to see if it’s for you 👍
