Nice improvement on the new gearknob.
Chassis plans sound promising too! Will give it a new lease of life! :driving:

I just fitted Michelin PS4s all round. You'll love them. Especially if you're used to run-flats.

My friend (Joe) with the 130i decided to replace his M Performance gear knob as the alcantara was grimy. So I thought I'd give it a good clean/scrub using the same methods I used on my Clubman steering wheel every 2/3 months, and fit it to the Z.

Image

I like it! The weight feels like an improvement over stock, and the alcantara came up fairly clean - although maybe a little bobbly. I'll get Joe to send me a before photo, so you can see how bad it was. My original plan was to fit a ZHP knob, as I loved it on the 330Ci and it seemed pretty common on here, but for no cost I'll stick with this for now.

I'm planning to clean up the leather on the steering wheel next weekend. But I'm considering booking in at Royal Steering Wheels for an alcantara retrim, as I loved the job they did on the MINI, so may not bother cleaning the leather so well.

My coilovers (ST XTA) are due to be delivered on 8th Feb, so I'm looking forward to getting those fitted along with some fresh bushes and wishbones/balljoints. Next after that will probably be a full set of Michelin PS4's :D

I’m running ST XTA coilovers with PS4S’S 👍🏻 I’m
Sure you’ll love it!

Nice! One question, did you get away with standard length front droplinks?

I ran PS4's on the MINI beforehand and loved them, with PSS before that. Can't wait to be rid of the runflats on the front of the Z!

Good question!

I was actually using the recommended on here 407 drop links for a while but they started knocking last weekend. Fitted the OEM one and they are fine. I'm also running pretty low

Welcome to the forum, great looking car you’ve bagged yourself there! Where abouts in Cambridge are you? I live in Cambs and don’t see very many coupes around at all.

I'm not planning on running that low, so I'll stick with fitting some fresh standard ones. Cheers!

Great Shelford area, there's another Black Coupe round the corner near some flats, and a Montego Blue Z4MR on the same road - must be a Z4 hotspot in Cambridge

Jono's Z4 Coupe

Had a car day on Saturday with a few others.

Including cleaning the throttle bodies on a mates 350Z HR, so he can aim for the magical 300whp number.

Image

Replacing the rocker cover gasket on Joe's 130i.

Image

This took longer than I'd hoped, as I hadn't realised how much plastic had to be removed before you could uncover the mammoth amount of wiring that then had to be disconnected! Finished by 7, and rewarded ourselves with a curry 8)

Whilst doing all that, I'd dropped my Coupe off to have Joe's Michelin PS4's from his 740i (just sold) fitted. They'd only done about 2000 miles on his car to Worthersee and back last May - so were pretty much new for a fraction of the cost. So glad to be rid of the run flats on the front, and traction has been much improved as the old rears didn't have much life left.

Plus I managed to find time to spray my kidney grille slats satin black, leaving chrome edges as OEM (for now).

Gave her a wash on Sunday which gave me an excuse to take some pictures.

My private plates arrived this morning, so now I'm just waiting for the V5 to be returned so I can put them on. Should clean it up a little.

Fingers crossed my coilovers are delivered this week, can't wait to fit them!
