+1

I love the rear of the pre facelift with those circular lights... they’re so retro & feel Bangle got that part right first time... just the front tangos show their age.

IMO, the E86 would have been even better in that guise

The E85 is the original and best Zed4. Its what the designers set out to do.
The rest are merely updates. Because thats what car makers do, losing a bit of the cars original soul each time until you have a completely different car which happens to have the same name....
:exitright:

Did i say that out loud......

Agree with you Jembo I would most likely have bought a Coupe as I was nervous of owning a soft top but the Coupe used Jan 2008 were around 27k for a good example from BMW so 17.5k for my roadster was a bargain compared to the Coupe.

The E86 in as you say pre face lift form would be stunning

E85 - The original and best.

E86 - The hatchback afterthought. Ideal for old blokes who've really given up on life. Anything else you hear is fake news!

E89 - I've made my feelings quite clear on the 3 series in drag many times. :headbang:

G29 - Can the G29 even be considered to be a BMW?

What about the new Toyota Supra? Should that be considered too?
2007 Z4 3.0si Sport. Silver Grey Metallic, Brembo Brakes, HEL Braided Brake Hoses, Machine Monkey Exhaust Tips, Stubby, Piano Black trim, Black Leather, Bilstein B12-Pro-Kit, Michelin Pilot Sport 4 on MV2's. Roof Motor in the Boot!

Ive had an E85 and got an E89 - I love my E89 and as I still see my own old E85 occasionally, still think thats a very nice car.

If I was buying a Z4 for the first time tomorrow though, it would have to be the E89 - But I haven't seen the new one in the flesh!

I think the pre-facelift E85 has the best rear lights. E86 for profile, and I quite like the front kidneys of the E89.
When it comes to styling though, surely the Z8 is the daddy. (Not forgetting the classic 507, that the Z8 was inspired by).
