If you ever think I'm off my rocker.. Just put me back in it and walk away... It's the kindest thing

When I had mine at the garage to sort out the VVT Actuator I did a health check and it came back with loads of errors, most of which were for things that are working so I cleared them all and will wait to see what shows up next time

I have a red warning light on too, had it checked at the local garage and it showed a fault with front right actuator? He cleared it but it came back on almost immediately so I now have it booked in with Sytners! £90 ffs  just to put in on their coder. Bloody costly things these cars, thinking to P/X it for a push bike.

is that the sensor that put up the abs, the brake light and something else ? its dirt and crap and even rust cus you aint using it enough, try some wd4o on it, i had it too - just use the car and it should go away.

just google bmw e46 seat mat bypass there's loads of info out there
a search on here should bring up a load of stuff too
yes I'd disconnect the battery before messing with the mat sensor wiring, but its not strictly necessary, just have the key out of the ignition

So I looked at those bypasses, and they say they that set off the passenger airbag regardless so what's the point of it aside of putting the light out?

Point is, the seat occupancy mat is expensive, and I gather, a right royal pain to do. If you are going to have a shunt hard enough to set off the drivers airbag it doesn’t matter a damn if the passengers airbag goes off too, it’s still a major shunt. Airbag light on = MOT fail. Nuff said?
