Fellow Southport resident! is the existing tip straightforward to remove? just a grub screw or something?

Hi Mackharry - from your picture I don’t think you have a trim fitted so nothing to take off - the chrome trim on the 2 litre was not fitted as standard (as far as I know) so the exhaust pipe gets grubby over time and and would need polished back to bare metal to get a shiny pipe! - mine was the same - bought the chrome trip as a easy upgrade -the chrome trim was dead easy to fit just pushed on and like you say a grub screw to secure. Hope that helps a fellow southport resident

Another vote for Autosol been using it on my exhaust for the last 11 years

viewtopic.php?f=2&t=17955&p=259633&hili ... ST#p259633

but if you want the chrome look then as said you will need to fit a polished tip.

Chiming in late here, I used redline wheel cleaner on mine. Worked an absolute treat and they look brand new! Only £4 on Amazon as well. T-Cut will also do the trick!

They should come up well with Autosol as recommended by "Smartbear". Mine came up well using just that and patience!

I just need to get more dextrous so I can get further up them.

Maybe get the twin pipe instead whilst you're at it? I did for my 2.0i.

If there's tar and shite on them, you can actually use clay to tidy them up, then as suggested. Autosol is your friend.

Is this part for any 2L? So you have a single exhaust pipe and this part fits over to create a twin pipe?????

Jock, I've just followed the link to the product posted above by longshaw. Snapshot of the details below so you need to measure your pipe to see if it will fit. I've got a 2.0i and the oval pipe measures 96mm x 66mm so according to the info it would fit on mine.
