Does it make THAT much of a difference in spirited driving????
I put a standard knob on mine when my original zhp broke (it started to turn on the gearstick). I quickly bought another zhp as the standard one felt terrible.

I had a ZHP before and this is basically the same except it’s illuminated and the leather is much nicer than on the standard gaiter (if you have ///M or Individual leather it will match that).

A guy I used to work with attemped to change the gear knob in his E36 during his lunch break. As he pulled the old gear knob off, he accidentally smacked himself in the face causing a minor nose bleed. Needless to say, he was ridiculed in the office.

No, there is an illuminated version - I think it was standard on the E39 M5 possibly. But then you obviously have to wire the illumination up!
This is true, there is an illuminated version for the Ms. No wiring up though. Just unclip the old and clip on the new.

I wouldn’t think a nonM owner would want this? I went for the non illuminated version for my M anyway as how many times do you look down there

Does look good when you do though :P
The knob is actually from an F10 M5 not E39 if anyone is thinking of ordering one.
