Steamy headlights
So here is the thing, having fixed the lights on the blue 2, so now with the grey 3 I have steamy headlights again, previous owner put in hid's which as far as I am aware get hot. So why do I get steamy headlights? Each one has huge silicon bags and new seals. Ho hum.

It’s usually the rubber seal around the removable cover on the back (the one you change the bulb through)road warrior wrote: ↑Mon Dec 10, 2018 8:18 am So here is the thing, having fixed the lights on the blue 2, so now with the grey 3 I have steamy headlights again, previous owner put in hid's which as far as I am aware get hot. A new seal or a smear of Vaseline should cure it

As above, dry out the headlight and then silicone grease that cover back on

To slightly digress from the thread title, would the same fix work on the front fog lamps? Mine are quite steamed up.

Standard fix for fog lamps is to drill 3 small holes (3mm) in the underside of each one (a few threads on here about it). I have done it and it works.

The other obvious point to make is that sealing up the headlights is great, but only if they aren’t already full of water (moisture) or that water is going to condense on the inside of the lenses and be unable to escape. At this time of the year I would suggest blowing warm air into the back of the light with a hair dryer for a while to get them warmed up and dried out before you put the rear cover back on.

now then.. continuing on the lonesome trail of putting things right in order of importance.. it seem it has a brodit phone connector, the lead of which disappears into the left side of the passenger footwell. where is it going and what is it connected to ? I took the radio out and saw nothing there. I looked online for a clue and saw one that terminated in a usb connection.. - but where would that go ?
