Agreed, but I just felt like I'd try and help you as I'm pretty sure no garage will sit, read that all and then reply, unless you've found the best and most patient garage in all the land.

Really enjoyed reading the thread and always love a good revival love story.

It does seems like the moneys rolling and wonder if its worth it? Good 3.0si's with mid milage start at like £6.5k and coupes there have been a few on the forum for sale with 50ishk miles for £8.5-9k

Especially when considering a full paint job etc. Its unlikely you'll ever see the money back and interest in cars over 170k will be slim when you consider the price of a good one is still not a huge expense.

Admire the dedication tho

Strangely enough the garage not only read it and replied but offered some suggestions for improving what I wanted to do! We had a good hour long conversation and made a plan. Mind you the plan changed before we got anywhere near implementing it but that's not the point!

Sooooooooooo. As ever things change and questions are asked and then man-maths comes into play. :headbang: :poke:  :tumbleweed:

So as a result of, mainly the man-maths I have to admit, I now have a nice shiny 56 plate Coupe heading into the garage to get a nice makeover of all of the fun bits ready for a trackday on Sat 02 Feb at Brands.

So the car has a full service history and has covered about 88k miles. It also came with a really nice set of MV2's which are going to get treated to my current winter rubber and put on as soon as it gets back from the garage.

The work that's being done:

Full inspection, service and engine health check.
Gearbox oil flush and change.
Differential oil flush and change.
Fit B12 Kit with front strut tower reinforcement plates and Rogue engineering up-rated rear mounts.
Front suspension bushes changed to Powerflex Purple.
Rear suspension bushes changed to Powerflex Purple with the exception of the RTAB which will be a Rogue Engineering up-rated item.
Anti Roll bars replaced with H&R set with adjustable droplinks.
Full 4-wheel alignment.
Fit Rogue Engineering Short Shift Kit with a weighted Shift Selector Rod and up-rated gearbox mounts.

Then it will come back to me for the trackday. :driving: :driving:

I've booked it in for a full detail, paint correction, front bumper respray, and getting the Brembo 6 pots painted and put on the front.

In one go you’ve done more performance mods than most have ever done.

Well once the brakes are done I'll have done the brakes and chassis mods. Then I'll look at the drive train for the next lot of work. I'm thinking that I'll add a LSD and then look at letting the engine breath a bit better with a ram air filter, intake manifold, free flowing exhaust and manifold.

Are you going for the offset (eccentric) lollipop bushes? Might be worth a try if you’re getting a full alignment done. They are a popular mod for the E46 M3 but it would be interesting to hear how they feel with the EPAS on the 3.0si.
