Got them on our daily 330d. I think they look OK if you choose the colour carefully.

My mate Darren 'invented' and markets Rimblades which are sold worldwide including as dealer options on some makes. They are great apart from the name which sounds like something for shaving your crack!
Anyway they don't come unstuck providing they are fitted properly and are GENUINE, there are a lot of fakes on Amazon and Ebay and it's been killing his business. So don't waste money on the knock-off's, they fall-off!

A couple of blokes in my work have rimblades on their alloys. Close up they look absolutely awful. You can see where the fitter has used blobs of some kind of sealant, which I assume is to keep them securely fitted to the alloy.
They're also bright blue, on black alloys. Honestly, they look terrible.
The guy said they cost him £125 I almost died laughing.

I think you might be confusing Rimblades which cost about £30 and are DIY fitted per the video, with Alloygators at over £120 and require the tyre to be deflated and usually fitted at a tyre shop. Different products, it sounds like your mate had Alloygators.ben g wrote: ↑Sun Nov 04, 2018 9:19 pm A couple of blokes in my work have rimblades on their alloys. Close up they look absolutely awful. They look the same to me, hence why I used the name 'rimblades'. The brand name is irrelevant.Ewazix wrote: ↑Mon Nov 05, 2018 12:28 amI think you might be confusing Rimblades which cost about £30 and are DIY fitted per the video, with Alloygators at over £120 and require the tyre to be deflated and usually fitted at a tyre shop. Kind of like how most people call a vacuum cleaner a 'hoover'
Both, in my opinion, look dreadful up close, but look fine from a distance.

Completely different methods of fixing, the Alloygators are fitted by hooking under the edge of the tyre and therefore needs a fitter to break the bead, install and rebed the tyre once inflated. The Rimblades are self adhesive with a 3M backing so tyres don't need messing with. They both look unobtrusive in the right colour but I wouldn't have either. (unless my wife was going to drive the Zed, which she doesn't because she's "frightened", I'm not sure if she's frightened of the car or me if she doofs it.... TBH the latter is unlikely as she can be quite fierce . Anyway I'm not arguing with her decision which saves my nerves and the need for plack'y rim things.ben g wrote: ↑Tue Nov 06, 2018 6:32 pmThey look the same to me, hence why I used the name 'rimblades'. Although some look better than others, I still think they all look a bit naff up close
I’d rather just pay £80 for a refurb if I were to have a ‘moment’.

A mate of mine who refurbs wheels told me the adhesive can be corrosive to the lacquer on the wheels. Don’t know if true, just drive a bit more carefully and save a few quid.

A neighbour has them on his 1.2 Astra with the whole VXR bodykit and fart can exhaust.
That seems to be the target market for these type of thing mostly.
Maybe just be a bit careful and don't be hitting any kerbs or get tyres with a bugger lip at the alloy. The previous set of Goodyear Eagle AS2 had a bigger lip to protect the alloys a bit.

I've seen sets work loose and damage the car.
