See my previous post above......... F1's have a square edge profile. When I changed from Falkens (round edge profile) to F1's tramlining started and required a lot of suspension replacements and alignment to sort. Basically, stiff walled (RFT) or square edged tyres expose wear problems with the suspension.ErrErrminator wrote: ↑Sat Oct 27, 2018 7:56 pmYet mine has just had new wheels put on it, with Eagle F1s, and is now a lot worse that it was on the old set of wheels with Uniroyal Rainsport 3s. Go figure!

18" is the wheel diameter size
8 1/2" is the width
JJ is the rim profile (shape) I think JJ is more common on 4x4's rather than sports cars (but I may be wrong).
The offset number will have the letters ET in front e.g. 'ET45'
You need a 'Wheel Nut' to chip in here, but 8 1/2" is quite wide on the front, a lot of tread to grip and play around on poor surfaces will make things squirmy. My 18" Dia style BMW 108 wheels are 8" wide on the front, some original 16" wheels were only 7"

What would be the suggested approx psi to work to
Googled it and the results seem a little high
My Chmaera was 22f and 24 r on 16” rims

I've played with my pressures endlessly but have settled on the 2.1 bar (31psi) Front, 2.3 bar (33 psi rear) which is the kick plate recommendation for my wheel/tyre size (18" staggered 108's). It's a good starting point

Ive actually lowered the pressures at front and rear, and the difference is significant in a positive way

You guys running lower pressures, do you not notice the ride is quite hard?
I lowered mine to 30 front, 32 rear and the ride was awful. I nearly broke my back on the smallest of potholes/drains. I then increased them to standard pressures 33 front, 36 rear and it feels much better.
Most of my driving involves high speed commuting, rather than country lane twisty driving, so maybe that's why?

I tred as low as f28 and the ride felt worse. Like the tyres were now starting to not do their job of cushioning the bumps etc. It felt like I could feel every little surface imperfection
The handling was also noticably worse especially turn in

Interesting Ben. I only started to get that when I went f28 r30 but I am running m sizes so that may have some bearing I'm not sure.ben g wrote: ↑Wed Apr 03, 2019 4:03 pm You guys running lower pressures, do you not notice the ride is quite hard?

F30 R32 are the pressures the m runs and I know thats a different car but the basic architecture is very similar and if anything you'd think the m might need a bit more pressure as it's circa 100kgs heavier than a 3.0

It does seem strange. My missus even commented on the hard ride and she's the most anti car person ever I checked my pressures and the fronts were at 29.5psi, rears 32.5psi so not far off your suggestion.MACK wrote: ↑Wed Apr 03, 2019 4:22 pmInteresting Ben. I guess it's a bit of a subjective thing. Mine on vredestein Vorti's seems to be better suited to the higher pressures.
