So nearly a month late my new ebay exhaust arrived today. Well packaged and looked good.
I'd stripped the old one off last month in anticipation of its arrival but because of the delays I had to reinstall the old one. A pain but at least I only had new nuts and bolts to undo at the manifold today.
I fitted the front two sections together off the car then offered it up to the manifold. I used some wood and padding to hold the middle section up whilst fitting the exhaust to manifold bolts finger tight. Then refitted the plate under the exhaust which the exhaust then bolts onto. Finally fitted the rear section. Fit was good, the only fettling I did was push some of the underbody heat sheild in a little to avoid any knocks. This was only precautionary and in one spot.

Tightened everything up then started her up. I'd been a little worried that with my current exhaust blowing a little, it might've been getting progressively louder and I wouldn't appreciate this new one so much. WRONG.

Initial start up and short drive. Definately sounds louder but not obnoxiously so. Its more the fact it sounds deeper and richer that bought a smile to my face. Infact at idle I'm not sure it is any louder than standard, but definately sounds nicer. Some nice pops and burbles on overrun.

Full throttle definately sounds much, much better. Think I'll likely be replacing at least the small section of foam back in the resonator now. I'll take it for a proper blast shortly. If you couldn't tell I'm very pleased with it for now. I'll have to see if dones on the motorway as its my daily but so far, so good!

Very much so. I would've weighed them both but I was trying to be quick. At a very rough estimate around half the weight. Certainly a lot lighter though.

So after a few days living with the new exhaust, my thoughts so far.
In generally I'm really pleased with the much deeper and thoatier tone. I've not experienced any drone or rattles but it is a lot louder. On a sunny day car that would be prefect but I'm not sure if I'd fancy covering major miles in it. That said I've got all the foam removed from the sound generator so I'll likely pay around with that in the coming days.

The other thing to note is that the exhaust does sit lower. Probably not by much but still.
My house is accessed down a little unmade lane, the centre of which is grass. Previously when the grass was long it would get brushed by the underside. But the front box scraped the turf up on one trip out. I now drive more at the side of of the 'furrows'.

My exhaust wasn’t great, someone had chopped the middle box and put in pipes, the welds were failing so I went for the £299 direnza exhaust from eBay, it arrived after only a few days, I was impressed by the quality the welds look like they were done by a robot,
I took it to my mates garage and we fitted it, long story short it fitted pretty good but it just catches on the middle cross support where there’s a support for the pipe
The back box was twisted up on the near side rubbing the rear valance so I dropped the pipe hanger and made two 30 mm spacers which went between the body and the hangar bracket, this made the exhaust hang perfectly taking it away from the driveshaft too, which was too close for my liking.
So the effects, wow, the car seems to accelerate quicker and the overrun smoother, very nice I’m really enjoying a new car.
The noise ? I was a bit worried at fiirst it being much louder, especially in lower gears but it’s settling in and I’m growing used to it, a nice deep burble and a throaty roar,
Still gotta sort the tinny zing where it’s touching the plate x member, but it’s minimal and I’ll get round to it.
All in all I’m delighted, stainless exhaust for £299 ? .........awesome

Interesting to see how the Direnza exhaust shapes up as a mate put one on his Fiesta ST 180 and wasnt straight and needed to have the tips cut off and welded back on by a local exhaust guy, he found. Also the stainless wasnt particulary shiny soon after fitting and seemed to look quite second hand a lot earlier than he hoped.

Mine fitted like a dream, no problems at all. The tips have discoloured a bit but not noticeabley so and I haven't even tried cleaning them. For £250 it was a proper bargain.

Cool  . Good to get feedback , as I had considered one, but mates issues put me off a bit. How is the sound compared to the standard system ?

Deeper with some pops on over-run. Sounds like it should tbh, more aggressive but not too harsh or droney.

Thought it was,now £100 more, but still a bargain IMHO,as a 2nd set cat removal is £200 then you would have the rear perforated pipes in the rear box to change on top of that

Take it no MOT issues with this system

Do these exhaust get through mot noise & emissions ok ?

To answer my own question I’ve emailed them this is their reply.

Thanks for your message, this system is significantly louder than the OEM system. We cannot confirm that this would pass an MOT as our system is less restrictive.

We advise track use only
