E85 front bumper change.

Post by Kbs133 » Mon Oct 15, 2018 10:35 pm

As much as I love the Z4 I have always thought the front looks a bit boring. Yes I know everyone has their view :poke:

After speaking to the local body shop they have suggested upgrading to an M front bumper as it is probably the easiest to fit.

What’s your thought? :? Photos welcome

Cheers

I think it's a fairly popular upgrade, but I'm sure I read somewhere that you need to change the undertray to the M version as well so it lines up.

Hopefully someone who has done it will be along to help out!

Your biggest problem will be finding the brake ducts, grills (mesh) and undertray to suit.

The actual bumper fixes in the same way I believe so your brackets will be good if they don’t break on removal of the old bumper.

Have you seen the aero bumper? I think it looks great and simpler to fit. Needs the side skirts for the full complement.

Pretty sure you're being sarcastic with that comment, but of course it has. Mine has an M front

I don't have an undertray fitted and have no problems running without one.

But OP has a SI and I'm not sure I've seen the Aero which is a pre-facelift bumper, on a facelift Zed?

There’s definitely a red coupe that has this. It was discussed on here previously as it was on sale.

I wouldnt run without an undertray. Not only are they meant to protect engine components but also act as an airflow device so you will get some reduction in performance and petrol consumption.

Haven't had one for years. It's a Z4, not a Ferrari.

Engine bay does get dirty over time, but that's nothing a good clean can't fix.
