Hi, engine has to be up to normal temp before you check, which can be 5miles+ in cooler weather.
The display shows how many segments of oil are detected the car beeps when a litre is needed.
That was on my 3litre so not sure if your 2litre will be identical :?

nope.. it will beep when you switch off the engine, the oil can light will come on and the digital display under the clocks will say add 1 litre.. fresh in my mind as it happened to me this morning :D you probably have 0.25 of a litre left before it will alert you
if its got tits or tyres..its trouble :D
