Who Has A Cheap Ass Front Lip/Splitter?

Post by Jooboi89 » Tue Sep 25, 2018 9:42 am

I saw someone had one of those stick on, rubber type splitters to lower the front end slightly, and to be fair iv been looking for a solution to extend the bumper slightly as i think it all sits too high. Has anyone got any experience with these, whats the general vibe around them? Dont want to ricer, but I actually think it looks great for a tenner!!

Just do it! Seen a few with it and it looks good. You'll probably have to screw the rubber in the bottom tho as the underside sticky adhesive isn't going to be that strong...

I've got some of that stuff or something similar... was going to use it on my other car... It is great as a bump strip to stop you scratching that bottom bit of the lip...

On one of my regular commute routes there is a dip that if driven spiritedly compresses the suspension enough for the bottom of the bumper to touch the road, so I haven't fitted a front lip to my car... but I have been eyeing up these 2 on ebay:

Yep. Used on both great value and saves the bottom of the front lip. And looks very good as well.

I just bought a strip of that, but haven't got it fitted yet.

Not bought as a splitter, just as front lip protection! :)

I've been running with one for a couple of months now. It's an EZ-Lip that I managed to blag from a mate in exchange for a pint or two :D
I'd just had the front bumper resprayed and so it stuck really well to the new paint with its 3M sticky strip. I did however put a selftapper and penny washer every 6 inches or so just in case. Also ran a piece of rubber t-section wing piping along the join to tidy things up.
Been on a few spirited runs since and over speed bumps etc and it doesn't show any sign of having come into contact with terra firma :)
I like the look and it ties in nicely with my black/grey theme

Thanks :)

It’s normal sterling grey but was in an underground car park so the lightning complimented the look of the paint. :)

Ive got this on mine. Has been on well over a year now and ive scrubbed it off a fair few curbs.

My plan was to put this on untill it came off and get a maxton front splitter but the thing has just never came off. I havent found anything to keep it glossy though. Always goes back to a sort of dark grey no matter what rubber trim dressing you put on.

Definately makes the front look better.

Anyone got one of these on the Aero? The shape of the Aero isn't a straight line so not sure how this would look! Possibly applies to M fronts as well!

it's very flexible and id say for a few quid Kiss it's worth a shout. If it looks shite, it's just through in the back of garage time.
