This looks great. Hats off to you!
How did you tuck the wrap at the seems? For example the front bonnet? Did you use knifeless tape or just use a normal knife? Some close ups would be grand! I would probably ask to see it... but you're a tad far away for that!

Love the wrap and love the colour, that takes some serious talent! I thought about doing the same but I'm seriously useless at wrapping. I was interested to find this though https://tintschool.co.uk/vehicle-wrapping-courses.asp, learn a skill and get your car wrapped in the process, looks interesting but no mention of the cost anywhere.

Here's a close up of the bonnet + front quarter:

Image

Basically for the bonnet, you can cut along the opposing edge (the fender), then release the bonnet and tuck the wrap under. I wasn't confident in my cutting or rolling over with so little wrap so I actually just popped the bonnet with maybe about 2 inches of wrap overhanging. THEN I tucked it and cut beyond where the pros do (again, just not confident haha). Didn't use knifeless here as it's not really visible - just lightly scored the vinyl and then tore it off. I found if you score it, then at the start of it just cut a little bit through, quick motion and it will cleanly come off. Just needs to get going.

In this pic is how I've done it - it looks like theres some "fingering" you can see on the bottom side of the pic but actually, had I cut where I'm suppose to (above where my thumb is), it would be very clean:

Image

The fender itself was the first piece I had ever done so I did cut it along the opposing edge (bonnet). But then I discovered that you could actually still see the grey through the gap. So when I redid it, I again left 2+ inches and popped the bonnet. Then tucked everything and trimmed it. I just scored along the surface.

Image

Could be much neater with this (annnd I've just noticed in the pic the lifting - it's from when I was tightening the edge. Heatgun should shrink it back flat) and also trim a little bit straighter but I decided that I was not going to get it perfect without many more hours of experience so resolved to get the tucks 70-80 satisfactory and give myself a pass :P

To be honest, everyone starts off at "useless". The first time I ever wrapped anything on my previous car, it was a tragedy and it was a really simple piece. Would take me less than 5 minutes now. The only way to move on from noob, is just to do! My wing mirrors on the Z took 2 days to figure out how to tackle it. Wasted so much vinyl - and when I realised what I needed to do, it took 20 minutes each side! Protip: Don't try to do it in 1 or 2 pieces. Just do it in 3!

You can try checking out CKWrap's videos on Youtube (https://www.youtube.com/user/MrSpyderGT/videos). Helped me a lot as most of his vids aren't cut so you can just watch the process of problem solving (and he explains his thought process as well). He gets a little biased sometimes when talking about brands etc but ignore that haha.

amazing work.
Second DIY-Z4-Wrap that I see this week. The other one was on the US z4 forum.

Hope this doesn't get me wrap-infected :-)

I honestly thought about deleting them like a lot of peeps do but genuinely have grown to like them! I think on a grey car they can work - some colours like red probably not as much!
