After getting more and more frustrated with the terrible sound my stereo produced, I decided to find a cheap solution.

I’ve read lots of topics about this and thought I would add what I’ve done.

I like the look of the console screens on some of the newer cars so went with a single din unit with the flip out screen. The one I chose also had internet, sat nav, tv etc etc. Most of which I will never use.

I tried the aux cable but the sound was poor and was still going through the terrible head unit.

This option was about £150 all in and the sound and volume, compared to the old unit, is brilliant.

Yes it sticks out a bit but overall it’s a small negative when you consider the Bluetooth function, better/louder sound and sat nav option.

I know what you mean. After a fair bit of research I ended up buying a 10.1” Joying Android unit. My Z has the optional satnav with the flip-up screen, which looks and feels so outdated that you would think needs cranking now and again to keep it going. I am thinking of relocating he large 10.1” screen where the original currently goes. That way it’ll look better integrated and will not block the central vents as it does at the moment

Will be interested to see how this looks, agree the satnav does look dated
Would be nice to fit an apple car play system in that space if it looked nice

Spaniaruk, I’d be very interested to see the installed stereo as it’s an option I’ve been considering, but might wait until Christmas time to change.

Be great if you could post some pics and maybe give your thoughts of it in use.
