The chrome has started to come off my gear knob so looking for a replacement, wanting a weighted shorter style, seen a few on eBay but told they are cheap copy’s anyone had any experience with a good weighted short shifter from eBay?

The two popular choices are the ZHP or the Storm Motorwerks ones. I have the latter and love it but they're rather more expensive than the eBay stuff, which I have no experience of.

Buckly06, another member on here, made a batch of weighted gear-knobs but I don't know if he's still doing them.

Yours is definitely looking tired!

Luckily I bought a genuine ZHP from Cotswold BMW last year, as nobody seems to have any stock now!

It's a definite improvement - shorter and heavier.

Sorry I don't have any experience of ebay ones, but if the one you've highlighted is genuine that's a good price! Then again if it isn't genuine it's way too dear!

I got this one for my E91 from aliexpress.com for £10! It weighs the same as the standard one. They do have ones that look like the ZHP, but I don't think they are weighted.

Good luck anyway!

I bought the non-M version from the same supplier, it’s not genuine ZHP but the quality is not too bad and it’s nicer to use than the original.
Current: 2005 Z4 3.0i Sterling grey, red leather, 108's. Cruise, DLV back box, Gaptech.

Is it worth £40 seeing as it’s not a genuine part? 🤔

Well it wouldn't be to me - I only paid £57 for a genuine one!

But I didn't mind paying less than a tenner for a Chinese one! :)

If your going to spend £40 on a fake, you might as well spend £10 instead.

Especially as it’s probably one and the same knob.

These look great...Is this titanium plated option? Think i'm going take the plunge on a V1 handbrake and knob. Not sure whether to go with this finish or the brushed aluminium for my black and PY individual interior? Decisions, decisions.

If you look at Tug's post further up he has the titanium plated option, It's darker than the brushed aluminium. If you look at my photos just below that that's the brushed aluminium option. I actually bought both and decided on the Brushed Aluminium to go with the aluminium dash, now I've changed my dash to carbon leather I wish I'd stuck with the titanium!
