Guys, I was under the impression there was an article on retrofit of electric seats but all I can find are a supplement thread and one which references changing of seat squab? If anyone knows of a comprehensive guide can you link to it please?
Specifically, right now, I need to alter the position of a seat so I can fit it temporarily until I get the seat loom. I need these out of my lounge before the Ayatollah gets back from her hols. So, I just want to put on a power feed temporarily from a battery to move position, disconnect and then drive. Understand I need to fir airbag prior to switching ignition on also.
I see from the plug on drivers side there is a brown, a smaller signal cable and the other is red with a brown trace. I am supposing the two larger cables require a pos and neg but which way around? OR is only one of these power and the neg returning through the chassis? I do not have heated seats.
The BMW planet wiring diagram site won't work on Chrome, Firefox or safari so I can't seem to use it.
Hope someone can help! Thanks in advance - Ian

Electric seat retrofit wiring info?
If you send me your email address i can send you the BMW wiring guide for retrofits.
Below are the links i used to get me through
http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic ... move+seats
http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic ... +seat+loom
(Mr PT links off to part numbers etc required on this thread)

Adding power to the seats is actually relatively simple as there's an existing fuse position that is utilised - you just need some specific electrical connectors from BMW.

Apologies, i just checked and the retrofit is just for heating which you don't require.
The second link above should provide everything you need.

Brilliant thanks. Couple of dead links (wiring diagram) and missing pics from shipkiller but think we will get there with a diagram.
