I have a 2.5 SE manual and I am getting 28 mpg so it is probably about right as they say autos do less to the gallon than an auto.

It off course depends, whether its a stop start journey, how heavy your right foot is,
generally in what you are saying, its about right, go on a decent motorway run, I would expect high 30`s

Thank you for your replies.

I thought mpg was in the right area, was hoping for a bit more, will have to ease up on the fun pedal to see if it makes much difference.

On my trip to work which is very easy on my Z4 as it is 23 miles of A class roads that are not too busy. I average 38 mpg if I take it easy with my right foot. If i drive more normally (if there is such a thing) I get 33 mpg. If I start to include cities I get 28 mpg. It is a 3.0L Manual. RustyZ4 sums it up.
Z4 3.0L 2005. Titan Silver. Audio Upgrade Second Stereo Pioneer X8700DAB, Sony Xplode 4 x 70W Amp, 6.5" Reckhorn Subs in rear cubby, Focal AS165-3 in fronts.
