Direct ULF replacement?

Post by Any1else » Sat Aug 11, 2018 9:38 pm

Having issues with my iphone 8 pairing with the car. It pairs ok and I can access the phone book etc but when I answer a call I dont hear anything. wondering if the issue is an old ulf and a new phone.

The car is a 2003 and the ulf that is fitted has a label on it with a ref VP3KAF-14B409. HW Rev 07, SW Ref 39.

If I was looking to replace the unit to a more recent unit, what could I fit that would be a direct replacement and be plug n play?

Another odd thing that I noted was that the unit has the bluetooth passcode on the label but it wont work to pair the phone - I need to use 1234 rather than the stated code. Is that weird?

Direct ULF replacement?

There were several version upgrades of the ULF and they are just plug and play as long as you get for E85/6 E46 or E39

Com memory the pairing code can be changed through navcoder or inpa, so guessing that's what's been done there

Great. Thanks srhutch. Will have a look for a newer ULF and see if that does the trick.
