No worries, I'm sure any decent paint will work. No lacquer coat then? I know I can get a satin lacquer spray so debating the use of it
Without a top coat it'll be prone to scratching off easily

No, just a couple of top coats

Well I started this yesterday. Not done much yet, just sanded all the parts down with 600 grit and applied 3 coats of plastic primer to the first parts. Was getting a bit late to start the rest so will probably do the other primer coats tonight.

The plan then is a few coats of satin black paint, followed by a couple of coats of satin lacquer. Should do nicely!
