E85 "Straight piping" the back box (back box only)
I got this done a couple weeks back - its adds a very nice noise with very notable pops/crackles when dropping gears or going through the city. There is some drone on the Motorway but this has already calmed down slightly as the pipes have built up with carbon and with music on I cant really notice it tbh
As for MOT's it could/probably should fail as its not "standard" however mines are done with a more lenient/friend with common sense you could get the backbox modified slightly so that you can easily swap it over this is what I have just in case.

I got mines done as a favor as I know the guy but he would usually charge £150 for itchris999 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 30, 2018 7:16 pmThanks, yeah I was thinking if it's a cheap swap over you could always stick the back box on for testing. The regulations are usefully grey around what is acceptable and what isn't (can't be louder than original). That's usually the case with most regs or legislation! (Open to interpretation).CrazyBaptie wrote: ↑Mon Jul 30, 2018 6:50 pm I got this done a couple weeks back - its adds a very nice noise with very notable pops/crackles when dropping gears or going through the city. What did it cost you out of interest? Thanks

I had mine done at Hastings classic custom exhaust’s, so not a million miles away.
Love mine, the drone on the motorway isn’t too bad imo. Having no backbox doesn’t matter on mot, it won’t fail for not having one.

I think it was nearer the £200 mark as I went for a nicer set of tips, I’ll add a photo later. Would highly recommend them, the welds are spot on and it’s guarenteed for life.
I’m going to have to have another trip down there soon for a quad conversion. I’m going to have a sporty silencer put on so I can pass track day limits. I don’t think it would pass without one

I was £130 and had a choice of tailpipe design, also took the old back box in case I ever need to swap back when selling.
I have seen so many people comment about how it may fail an mot but have never actually seen anyone say it has failed, there is no noise limit on the mot so cant see why they would. The garage that done mt delete also do mot's and advised there is no issue with the noise.

There is also the option of the DLV mod, There were a few cars on a run yesterday that had it done and it also sounds amazing but looks standard from underneath. Slightly dearer but gives another option if you prefer the standard look

Wanted to get mine done, but apparently it's illegal in Germany. So either DLV mod or weling in one of those remote controlled outlet pipes are my only options

Where are you based OP? You would benefit from hearing a few options in person, as YouTube clips always sound poor. I can vouch for the DLV mod, which on my 2.5 sounds amazing and really pops and crackles well.

Nice one, I put the sponges back on after getting mine done. Love the noise when flooring it

couldn't really hear anything much from the video, you need to to get someone to video you as you do a drive by.

I found the motorway drone to be intolerable, and was also conscious of waking the neighbours, as my job entails early starts and late finishes. I am considering the exhaust internal mod, but would like to hear one irl first.
