Welcome to the forum and glad you chose to go for her! As ph001 mentioned my 2.0L is carrying an emissions code at the moment. Thought I found it but not yet. Mine was advertised at 2k (2005) but the seller instantly declared she had an oil leak from cam cover and driver window wouldn't raise or lower so I already knew I had costs associated. As someone else has said I have spent almost as much again in leather seats, wheels, carpets, LHD headlamps. Still the best money I ever spent! Yes the 2.5 or 3.0 would have been nice but maybe as a next venture. Enjoy!

I also love it! Great experience with the Z4 so far! Really great buy and totally don't feel as low to the ground or exposed as I thought I might. Now I just need some good weather for the roof (luckily got some decent hours of sun on Saturday).
There were also a few decent bits thrown in in terms of cleaner and protector for the roof, which is nice - and some random cup holders that kind of slot in between the seat and the side.
First step in terms of upgrades for me I think is the stereo - annoyingly the track names aren't displayed when playing CDs (both audio CDs and MP3) - but could also benefit from USB / Spotify / Bluetooth. I've done a bit of research and seems that a Pioneer is pretty good. Does anyone here have any experience with their radios? Would be great to get any feedback or suggestions.
Also if there are any other areas you think are good to invest in upgrades! Do you think gearstick is a priority (e.g. Storm) ?

I'm glad you went for it, and really pleased that you like it!
I can't help with your questions about the stereo though - I'm old, and the E46 I sold this year had a radio/cassette! (albeit with a 6 CD changer).
A replacement gear-knob is a good modification - I bought a ZHP last year, but they seem to be out of stock everywhere now.
Storm-motorwerks do also seem popular, but they are going to be cold in the winter.

Showing my ignorance now, but I always thought that the 2 litre engine came in with the facelift and the smallest engine pre-facelift was the 2.2? Your picture is a pre-facelift car?merlineater wrote: ↑Mon Aug 13, 2018 9:40 pm I also love it! Great experience with the Z4 so far! I think you are very nearly right but there was a small production run in 2005 of the N46B20 prior to the 2006 facelift iirc.
