Multi function wheel

Post by Johnbmwz4 » Sun Jun 24, 2018 5:56 pm

I bought a multi function steering wheel off EBay the other day so decided to retro fit the controls onto my Royals retrimmed standard wheel. Wasn’t as easy as I imagined as the standard bare wheel is a bit different to a bare multi function wheel. There are cut outs in the foam on the multi function wheel to accept the wires and plugs from the multi function controls. Anyway after some careful slicing with a sharp Stanley knife the controls were fitted. Took a good half hour to cut the foam out. Also fitted my new to me rear view mirror which I wasn’t looking forward to but was a doddle, literally 5 mins from start to finish. Any way a couple of pics attached. I’m going to put the bare steering wheel for sale on here soon.

Yeah very easy, watched a you tube video on a 3 series getting done so almost the same sequence. My mirror liquid had bust due to the heat so there was a line of liquid in it. I’ll post a pic of it
