Roof Motor Foam Wraparound

Post by mattb10 » Fri Jun 22, 2018 11:34 am

Hi all,

After relocating the roof motor two years ago, I'm finally getting round to finishing the job by completing the housing process. :?

However, when I originally got the motor out, I discarded the foam wrap from the motor because of it's disgusting state.

Can I replace this with any type of noise-reducing foam wrap? Or does it need to be specifically fireproof?

Hi, any noise deadening material will do because the motor only works for seconds there is no chance of fire hazard. Wrap the motor with the material of your choice and pull the boot carpet in front of it, sealing it in the alcove then put a carpet covered board in front of the lot.

Cheers, tug
