I don't own any, but was under the impression that they're fitted/removed by hand (with no tools) in a couple of seconds, which wouldn't render the roof redundant. Perhaps I've got that wrong?
I think its more a case of remembering.
if you for whatever reason want to put the roof up, you have to remember to pull over somewhere, take them off before putting the roof up.
to me that's a pain, as I often put it back up for what ever reason while in traffic or at lights.
its easy to forget, and then its an issue.

Only to idiots. Real car guys couldn't care less about a bit of plastic covering the roof mechanism. It actually renders your electric roof pointless.

Nice buy anyway. Worth getting at that price, even if they're going to spend the next year in the boot.

Real car guys. Mmmmm. Like red soft tops?
:poke:
Does my red soft top affect how the roof works? Nope. So I don't see what you're trying to get at.
Was having a laugh. But your first comment sounds like sour grapes! Also the point I was poking at was that “real car guys” wouldn’t care about the colour of a soft top! Anyway u can unbunch ur knickers! We’re just having a laugh.

Bargain! You are already in profit to the tune of £400! Pension funds should allow these covers to be in the pot.

I shall be cleaning mine (along with the rest of the car) in the expectation of getting to the Le Mans Classic and back with the roof down and the side covers on. They do make a (small) difference to wind noise and do look good. I have only forgotten to remove mine twice before putting the roof up!

I had a set of these. They went on my car once to take photo's, then I took them off and left them in the boot for a while. Eventually I took them out and put them on a shelf in my garage.

No sour grapes about it. I just don't see the fascination with these

I would never have even contemplated buying them at the price they usually go for but I do think they finish the lowered roof nicely and at that price I would have been daft not to get them.

It sometimes surprises me on this forum, how something seemingly unimportant stirs up quite strong emotions.

It's called a forum for a reason. People are allowed to express their opinions.

I even said they're a good buy on my original post, yet people gloss over that and focus on the negatives.

Reminds me of daily mail journalists...

I agree, it always seems to be the same fuckwit that starts it as well, especially when it comes to this subject
