Suspension refresh

Post by Grose » Fri Jun 15, 2018 9:51 am

So, this weekend will see me starting on my suspension refresh on my 100k Z. I will be doing front arb bushes, track rods, drop links shocks, top mounts and springs along with rear shocks and springs.
I have some mushrooming on the passenger side bell housing for the front strut and was trying to locate a reinforcement plate. I see there are ones for a E46 or E36. Does anyone know which or if these will fit? The top.mounts are shared parts with the E36 but I cant find any definitve answer.
Also, can anyone suggest other parts needed while doing the refresh? Is it worthwhile replacing bolts etc?
Thanks!

I think the e46 plates are the same fitment, not 100% on that but I'm sure someone on here will know for sure.

I'm 99% I have the E46 reinforcement plates in the front of mine. I'll see if I can find a link or at least a name of the company I got mine from.......

Elite developments, the plates are for the E36 and E46. Although this is of no use currently as the site is down for maintenance :(

E46 ones fit and I have them in mine: 51 71 7 036 781. Other option is strut brace that is designed in such a way that it will also reinforce towers.

Yep, I found doing the shocks themselves was not too bad, but taking out all the boot trim first was a massive pain;)
