Trunk Lift Supports
The trunk feels like 200 lbs when lifting. It stays up alright, but does it need replacing where it doesn't go up as easy as it should? thanks

The rear boot struts? Can loose their effectiveness over time. I’ve got new ones in mine, nice and easy

I used a silicon lubricate in all hinges and a little on the strut rams and totally transformed the lifting. Worth a try.

The struts are any easy replacement. They just pull off and push on.
Part number is 51243420572 for the coupe or 51247016186 for the roadster (you don’t say which you’ve got) and they fit both sides.
I paid about £60 for a pair in 2016.

These are the guys I used for mine when one lost pressure. They can also shorten (if you have a hardtop), increase and decrease speed and damping and fit stainless ends if you ask/specifycsquire4 wrote: ↑Sun May 27, 2018 10:04 am Might be useful:

+1 for https://www.sgs-engineering.com/
Supplied uprated ones for the Civic when I added some sound proofing to the rear hatch, even reccomended how much they should be uprated after I gave them the weight added.
Not the cheapest place but worth the extra few quid for the excellent advise.
