E86 sat Nov option

Post by Djcla » Mon May 21, 2018 10:08 am

Hello all

I'm working towards joining the z4 coupe owners group :).. just a quick question if a z4 has the sat Nov professional opinion does that mean it comes with the uprated 10 speakers system?

Hi and welcome!

Sorry I can't answer your question, but I can offer you a Z4 coupe with both sat nav and 10 speaker option! :P

This is mine that I'm selling:

I believe BMW always sold the Nav and speaker upgrades separately so you’ll need to look for the extra speakers behind the seat and/or do a vin check to confirm if a prospective purchase has the upgraded audio.

As above, nope the two are not related. Also be aware there are two 10 speaker systems, the DSP version being the best.

My German LHD E86 coupe shows 'Sat Nav Professional' and 'Professional Hi-Fi Loudspeakers' on the factory spec sheet.....I assumed it was unrelated...the sound system is along with a 6 CD changer. So far I have detected 8 speakers from front to behind the seats .....another two could lurk under the footwells?

Firstly welcome to the forum OP - and hopefully to Coupe ownership.

They are definitely 2 different options - my first Coupe had the HiFi professional 10 speaker DSP system but had no Sat-Nav! Well not until I plugged in my Garmin! :o

To be honest I wouldn't be too bothered about having a 10+ year old Sat-Nav, but the DSP stereo is worth having - it could probably make your ears bleed in such a confined space!

But if I was ever searching again my first priority would be M-Sport seats (standard on Sport models, optional on SEs) and Bi-Xenon headlights (optional on both).

Good luck anyway, and don't forget the photos! :)
Coupes because stunning!
Current - Silver Grey MC, Imola Red heated Nappa & carbon trim. Aeros, H & R Coil-overs, 224s, OE Strut brace, Nav, cup-holders, DSP Hi-Fi, pdc, cruise, MFSW, no CDV! E90 330i daily
Gone - Montego Blue
Gone - Ruby Black

Welcome to the forum. 10 Speaker system is great. The satnav however, is pants. If I where to buy another it would not have the OEM nav
