Teach me...

Post by Z4C_er » Fri May 18, 2018 9:51 pm

So last weekend I replaced the valvetronic gasket. That was fun. I disconnected the battery for the duration of the work - about 2 hrs. When I reconnected I noticed a few things, like the fact that the window didn't drop anymore when you wanted to open the door.

Then, it started doing it. Amongst other things, the windows up until today wouldn't auto-up or down. Then all of a sudden they did.

So, the question is: does the car somehow relearn what it should or am I going crazy?

Could be wrong but I think you lower the windows and hold the down button for about 10 seconds and do the same with the window fully up. I tend to do it twice and it seems to work on mine.

(taken off a different thread about window reset)
Get in, close door, turn on ignition (no need to start engine) roll down window and hold button down for 5 seconds, roll window up, turn off ignition, get out, close door and up pops the window.

As above, you’ve managed to reset the windows, without even knowing it.
