Hi Folks,
I really need to know what SE ride height looks like, I need to lift up the front of my car and want to know if buying SE springs (and shocks while I'm at it) is going to accomplish this.
This is my car with the maxton lip kit on standard sport suspension. It's far too low at the front and I basically can't drive it anywhere except Wales ...which is a problem seeing as I live in Ireland
Any photos? Even better if it's on style 107s
Thanks!

Hi Peter. How are you mate ? I recently switched back to my SE springs and also fitted new Bilstein B4s. The N.Wales Run was the 'shakedown' and for my style of driving the car feels sooooo much better ! It was on its original '03 Sachs shocks which were knackered. The car sits about 20mm higher all round but is so much more driveable and comfortable that I'm just not bothered. The above photo was in the Yorkshire Dales last Sunday and is how the car looks now. My wheels aren't 107s, they are MV3s but the same 18" sizes

Is it possible to increase the side wall height of the tyres on standard suspension? From 35 front and 30 rear to 40 front and 35 rear?
May help hide the gaps?

On the 18s he's already on 40f 35r. However you are right in principle he could increase the tyre size to the m sizes of 45f and 40r. This has the added benefit of being more comfortable as well. The only drawbacks are they're not as aesthetically pleasing to look at as the lower profile standard tyres and cost a shed load more. A better option for the rear is 245 instead 255 in a 40 profile. These are actually cheaper than the standard 255/35 and vastly cheaper than the 255/40. They're more aesthetically pleasing than 255/40 but only increae the sidewall 8mm instead of the 12mm of the 255/40. So the increase in ride comfort isn't the same but it's still better than the standard 255/35.
A halfway house option between standard 225/40 and the m spec 225/45 for the fronts is 215/45.
To be honest I think the OPs car is going to really benefit from new shocks. I'd bet my house on his originals being knackered, especially after being used with f and r springs which are particularly low and harsh. Im surprised the garage that swapped the springs over for the OP didnt think they were past their best. My car used to be terrible on it's original m sport suspension. On the new billy b4s and eibachs it's much better. In fact it now catches less on road humps/bumps etc than it did, despite it being lower on the eibachs. This shows you just how bad the original shocks were at 80k 12 years old. Part of the reason it's more comfortable is the initial spring rate of the eibachs is lower than the standard m sport ones despite being lower.

I’ve just fitting billy b6s to me SE sprung coupe. Ride is definitely firmer but you can tell the damping is far better. The wheels push into dips much quicker than std dampers - presume the monotube design allows for faster extension. This means the wheels track the ground better. Compression damping is firm but this means the car can deal with bumpy roads more effectively at higher speed. It feels tighter and more stable, and less likely to be upset by bumps.
With se springs you keep the wheel travel and with b6 dampers you up the performance threshold so the car is firmer/less rolly/better at dealing with big hits than std. I need to give it more time but feels like a good compromise so far. Off to Le Mans in it in a couple of weeks so will see!

Whoops, I thought I replied to this thread already!
Thanks a million folks! It looks like the SE setup is just what I’m looking for, especially if it’ll increase comfort.
