Zeuna Stärker Exhaust

Post by R60BBA » Thu May 17, 2018 6:30 pm

Does anyone know what this box thingy is?

Is it a resonator?
Is it a balancer?
Or is it a secondary cat?

The part no. is 7514156 / 2038259001 however I can’t find anything on realoem or any other parts website.

Please only answer if you know for certain.

Or is it just another muffler?

I can’t find that number either, but it looks no different to every other centre silencer I’ve seen.

Maybe it’s a left over part number from when BMW sold the sections separately? But you’d think there’d be some reference to it in the interwebnet.

It's a silencer. The pre facelift cars have the secondary cats in place of that. Removing it will give the exhaust noise more "snarl" for want of a better word.

Mike
Thanks, does removing it affect performance (as in reduce low-end torque)?

Now that Mike has established what this box is.

Has anyone swapped it out for an X-pipe?

If so what sort of sound did you get? (Please post vids if you have).
