Will be interesting to see how this pans out. I can’t see them doing anything for us e85 owners.

Either way mine runs perfectly and has done since purchase. The last thing I want is for bmw to start pulling it apart. I’d probably decline unless they want to give me money off a service for the inconvenience.

I wouldn't even know how you'd fine out. Cars that old will very rarely be either 1 owner from new or have full bmw dealer service history (they would tell you about the recall when you next go for a service).

I know you can check from recalls on the MOT history website. But a lot of people don't know that.

I think that's an old recall by the looks of it - this latest one effects models from March 2007 onwards according to the BBC report.

I picked up a 2008 Toyota IQ just before Christmas as a small runaround to do all those dangerous missions that include supermarket car parks, checked DFT for MOT history & manufacturers recall and found out that it needed a new cat and exhaust manifold. the parts were probably worth more than the car!

My guess is that this will only apply to E89 Z4s.
Otherwise it doesnt make sense not recalling for anything pre 2007.
If a 2006 E85 isnt affected i dont get why a 2007 would be.

Unless there was a difference between engines installed pre and post 2007, but i dont think there was was there?

Annoying thing about the news coverage is that it doesn't say which exactly what models and their related years!
Just a group of models and the related total age range.

DVLA says my e85 is not affected even though it's in the range!
3.0si roadster. Requisite stubby. Sound gen mod. LED numberplate lights. LED boot strip. Interior lights LED too. ZHP gearknob. Daily drive :driving:
Motor in boot. Bilstein B8 dampers. New radio, much better sounds

I just checked on the DVSA website and it doesn’t effect the e85 or 86.

There was the black engine cover change from silver, if we want to add more fuel into that fire :fuelfire:
